BAD HABITS
SEPTEMBER 2020
This story focuses on the mishandling of anxiety management. The series explores irrationality, coping mechanisms, and finally reflection. Singer/songwriter Eva Agathis is the model for this series.
IRRATIONAL CHOICE
She recently failed an important task, and was disappointed in herself... She gave herself a stark choice to cope: take the healthy, slightly longer route of introspection, OR the expedient approach of alcoholic self-medication... That negative feeling was too great for rationality. The thread snapped, and she found herself drowning.
THAT SATURDAY
Drinking all day and night - what a bad idea! She lost herself to intoxicated numbness only to remain, at night, wide awake to thoughts racing in her head. What a nightmare! All she wanted was a place for her head...The sun rose, so she lost the night. But, she gained the morning light.
RESET
Overreactions are destabilizing. Instead, she'll opt for the healthy, frustratingly long approach of introspection. It's not perfect, but at least she’s cleaning herself of that anxious feeling... Recovery requires patience, and the outcome is worth it. She’s certain of it, right?
